What Are Parking Sensors

Parking sensors are very common on newer vehicles and their main role is to let the driver know how close the car is to an object. This allows the driver to park and manoeuvre more accurately. There are always some blind spots while reversing which is why parking sensors are becoming so popular. Not only can they give you that bit extra security so that you don't damage your car but they will also protect other people's cars around you.

Newer cars tend to have parking sensors already installed. If you don't, most car makes and models should give you the option to put them in if you want them. It's important to note that if you do have them on your vehicle, like any other type of electrics they can fail.

What Causes Parking Sensors To Fail

Parking sensors can fail for many reasons. Like any other electronic this can be down to poor wiring within the sensor, faulty wiring or just getting dirt/ fluids into it. You'll know if the sensor is gone by hearing odd noises when using it or hearing nothing at all.
